Honeymooners - Cairo - Hurghada - Cairo ,Cairo City: It is the capital of Egypt and one of the largest cities in Africa and the Middle East, with a history dating back over 1000 years.
Cairo is renowned for its rich collection of historical sites, including Pharaonic, Coptic, and Islamic landmarks, which would ideally require at least two full days to explore the major highlights.
The Giza Plateau: Located on the outskirts of Cairo, the Giza Plateau is home to the Giza Necropolis, built during the Fourth Dynasty approximately 4,500 years ago. The site features the only surviving wonders of the ancient world—the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—as well as the iconic Sphinx, various cemeteries, a workers' village, and an industrial complex. It remains Cairo's most popular attraction, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
The Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops): This pyramid is the oldest and largest among the Giza pyramids. Constructed around 2570 BC, Khufu's Great Pyramid stood at an impressive height of 146 meters upon completion.
The Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren): As the second-tallest and second-largest pyramid on the Giza Plateau, this structure served as the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre, who reigned from approximately 2558 to 2532 BC.
The Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus): The smallest of the three primary pyramids in Giza, the Pyramid of Menkaure is situated in the southwestern outskirts of Cairo. It is believed to have been built as the final resting place of the Fourth Dynasty Pharaoh Menkaure.
The Great Sphinx: Carved from a single piece of stone, the Sphinx is one of the world's most famous monuments. This legendary statue possesses the body of a lion and the face of a man, closely resembling King Kephren. It stretches 70 meters long and reaches a height of 20 meters.
Museum of Egyptian Antiquities: Commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or Cairo Museum, this institution houses a vast collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. With approximately 120,000 items, a representative selection is on display while the remainder is stored in its storerooms. Constructed in 1901 by the Italian company Garozzo-Zaffarani, based on a design by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the museum is one of the largest in the region.
Citadel of Saladin: Situated in Cairo, the Citadel of Saladin is a medieval fortification built by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) and expanded by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It served as the government seat and residence for nearly 700 years, from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Located on the Mokattam hills, it offers a strategic position overlooking the city and dominates the skyline. The citadel, along with its historic mosques, is now a preserved heritage site.
Khan El-Khalili: This famous bazaar and souq, located in Cairo's historic center, was established as a trading hub during the Mamluk era. It takes its name from one of the caravanserais (inns) in the area. The bazaar district has become a major attraction for both tourists and Egyptians, offering a vibrant market filled with shops, artisans, and workshops producing traditional crafts and souvenirs.
Water Activities in Hurghada: In Hurghada, you can enjoy a variety of water activities, including thrilling experiences like a banana boat ride, a glass boat tour to explore underwater wonders, and an exhilarating parasailing adventure.
Please note that the availability and specifics of water activities may vary, so it's recommended to check with local providers for the most up-to-date options and arrangements.
