Description

Cairo & Nile Cruise: Unveiling Ancient Egypt's Treasures (Luxor - Aswan) , Immerse yourself in the timeless allure of the Giza Plateau, located on the outskirts of Cairo. This captivating site is home to the Giza Necropolis, an awe-inspiring complex from the Fourth Dynasty, approximately 4,500 years ago. Prepare to be mesmerized by the only surviving wonders of the ancient world: the majestic Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, alongside the enigmatic Sphinx. This archaeological treasure trove also encompasses several cemeteries, a workers' village, and an industrial complex. As Cairo's most popular attraction, it enthralls and enchants thousands of visitors each year.

The Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu): Standing as the oldest pyramid in Giza and the largest in Egypt, Khufu's Great Pyramid reaches an impressive height of 146 meters. As the sole survivor of the ancient wonders, it carries an air of mystery and grandeur, transporting you back to its completion in 2570 BC.

Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre): Towering as the second tallest and second largest pyramid in Giza, this monumental structure serves as the eternal resting place of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren). Immerse yourself in the splendor of its architecture and explore the legacy of this revered ruler from c. 2558-2532 BC.

Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus): Discover the smallest among the three main pyramids of Giza. Nestled on the southwestern outskirts of Cairo, Menkaure's Pyramid is believed to be the final resting place of the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaure. Experience the intimacy and rich history within its ancient walls.

The Great Sphinx: Witness a true icon of the ancient world, the Great Sphinx. This legendary statue, with the body of a lion and the face of a man, is carved from a single piece of stone. Stretching 70 meters long and reaching a height of 20 meters, it bears a striking resemblance to King Kephren, adding to its intrigue and allure.

Museum of Egyptian Antiquities: Delve into the depths of ancient Egyptian history as you explore the renowned Egyptian Museum, also known as the Cairo Museum. Housing an extensive collection of artifacts and antiquities, this architectural marvel showcases 120,000 items, with a significant portion on display for visitors. Step into the past and immerse yourself in the wonders of this vast cultural repository, constructed in 1901.

Philae Temple: Uncover the captivating tales of Egyptian mythology within the Philae Temple. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, this magnificent temple tells the story of her quest to revive her beloved husband, the birth of her son Horus, and the mummification of Osiris. Originally situated on the island of Philae, it was later moved to Agilika Island to protect it from flooding caused by the construction of the High Dam. Dating back to Egypt's Greco-Roman period under Ptolemy II, this temple remains a testament to the enduring legacy of ancient Egyptian beliefs.

The High Dam: Marvel at the engineering marvel that is the High Dam, located on the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. Built to safeguard Egypt from the annual floods of the Nile, this rock-fill dam was completed in 1968 and stands at a remarkable height of 111 meters, with a length of 3,830 meters and a base width of 980 meters. Experience the power and significance of this monumental structure, officially inaugurated in 1971.

The Kom Ombo Temple: Step foot into a truly unique temple dedicated to both the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Built by Ptolemy VI, this extraordinary architectural wonder features duplicated courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms for each deity. Explore the spiritual significance and mythology associated with these revered gods in this captivating temple.

The Temple of Edfu (Temple of Horus): Journey to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the avenging son of Isis and Osiris, Horus. Referred to as "Apollopolis Magna" by the ancient Greeks, this temple showcases the fusion of Egyptian and Greek mythology, as they identified Horus with their god Apollo. Rediscovered in the 19th century, the Temple of Edfu stands as one of Egypt's most well-preserved sites, having been buried under desert sands for centuries.

The Valley of the Kings: Unearth the secrets of pharaonic burial rites in the Valley of the Kings. Serving as the final resting place for numerous pharaohs from the 18th to 20th dynasties, this ancient necropolis is a testament to Egypt's regal past. Explore renowned tombs, including the illustrious tomb of Tutankhamun, revealing magnificent treasures that captivate the imagination. Embark on a captivating journey through history as you visit three tombs, carefully selected based on availability.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut: Discover the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning architectural masterpiece located on the West Bank of the River Nile. Also known as Deir El-Bahari Temple, it honors the legacy of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt's first known female monarch, and stepmother to pharaoh Thutmose III. Marvel at the grandeur of this temple and the stories it holds within its walls.

The Colossi Statues of Memnon: Behold the colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, rising majestically on the West Bank of the River Nile. These towering structures, dating back to around 1350 BC during the 18th Dynasty, pay homage to the mighty ruler of ancient Egypt.

The Magnificent Temple of Karnak: Prepare to be awestruck by the sprawling grandeur of the Temple of Karnak, a vast complex on the East Bank of the River Nile. With its multitude of temple buildings covering over 100 hectares, this open-air museum stands as one of ancient Egypt's most ambitious architectural achievements. Wander through its hallowed halls and immerse yourself in the splendor of this remarkable site.

The Splendors of the Luxor Temple: Uncover the wonders of the Luxor Temple, nestled in the heart of the city on the East Bank of the River Nile.
